This week Goat and DRock are taking the "Flashback Friday" machine all the way back to 1989 — when Sly Stallone and Kurt Russel teamed up to take down the likes of Clint Howard and Jack Palance. Between debating the artistic and ass-kicking merits of the titular characters, the Last Action Heroes manage to crank out a review of this classic buddy cop flick.

"12 Rounds" is not a good movie. Hell, it's not even a very good action movie. I wanted to like it. I really did. Simply crunching some numbers on this film, it seems destined for success. For starters, you've got John Cena in the starring role. The professional wrestler-turned-actor is made for the action genre. He's built like a tank, is fairly charismatic and has declared his love for "Commando" in past interviews. He gave a somewhat "meh" performance in "The Marine," but I'm willing to give anyone a second chance.

Belgian soccer player Anthony Van Loo has a heart attack on the pitch only to be saved by a shock from his implanted defibrilator. You can see the shock in action when his legs jolt.

Joe and Klees add another entry into the Blood Bank after reviewing a blast from the past in “Runaway Train.”
Seinfeld stars Jon Voigt and Eric Roberts combine to add a paltry 10 beatdowns and 1 kill to the movie. Neither are responsible for the lone kill while Voight tosses in four beatdowns to Eric’s one in a very Strike Force-esque Blood Bank appearance. The 1985 film totals 11 kills and beatdowns. Check the stats out here along many other movies at the Blood Bank.
Check out this animated GIF movie of JCVD busting some dance moves as well as he throws down villains in Hard Target. This was sent by the great Liz Heyman, who designed many of the outstanding pages that LAH first appeared on in the Badger Herald before it grew into the juggernaut that it is today.
